Buceo en el oceano en Akumal y la Riviera Maya

Yesterday I conducted my discovery scuba dive at Blue Experience. I have to say that chosing here for my first dive what the right choice. Sarah was calm, knowledgeable and extremely patient. I had a mental block at the beginning but Sarah walked me through it and made it an experience I will never forget. Because of Sarah, I feel confident enough to go forward and complete my certifications.

We booked a Cozumel dive with this shop as quite new divers. We were paired with a group of 2 other new divers, and one guide. Unfortunately the current was quite strong that day and the guide seemed inexperienced, when divers were having trouble with up currents he grabbed and quickly pulled them down. One of the other divers ended up 30 feet behind the group and he failed to notice. He checked in on air levels once midway through the dive. Everything with the dive felt rushed and on accent one of the divers entered an uncontrolled rise and ended up on the surface, he then grabbed her fin and pulled her back down to depth. He gestured quite aggressively at us to come to him if we were above his depth during the dive despite him being > 10 feet below our maximum certification depth. We ended up hitting a max depth of 73.6ft, despite being certified to only 60ft. The whole dive was chaotic and felt very unsafe. The guide was quite aggressive and prior to our first dive commented “I thought I was diving with certified divers” as we were unfamiliar with their specific BCDs. My dive watch is covered in max depth exceeded alerts and missed mandatory depth stop alert. We elected not to complete a second dive as we didn’t feel safe with this guide in these conditions. I’d caution new divers from going with this shop, there seems to have been a change in staff and our experience did not line up with other reviews. Certainly changes in plans or sites should have been made given the conditions and the experience and skill level of our group.

Amazing experience with Eduardo and Sarah for our first ocean dive! We chose to dive with them vs our resort as had great reviews and we wanted that more personalized experience since it had been awhile since we did our open water certification in a lake. We did a refresher and then two dives and had an amazing time. My wife is nervous in the ocean and Eduardo did an excellent job making the dive feel relaxed, safe and fun. Their passion for diving really shows, and they go out of their way to make sure everyone had a great time. Highly recommend — would absolutely dive with them again!

I recently completed my Advanced Open Water with Eduardo, Sarah, and David — and I honestly can’t fault a single one of them. David took me through the deep and photography dives, Sarah guided me on Nitrox, Peak Performance Buoyancy, and Navigation, and Eduardo led me on the incredible bull shark dive. Each of them was knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely passionate about what they do. An amazing team and a fantastic experience from start to finish!

Ok, it has taken us a little while to navigate Google, but here goes a review for the best dive centre in Quintana Roo. Being in the hospitality sector ourselves, we understand the importance of going the extra mile for customers and the team at Blue Experience do that... and some! We had 8 amazing dives with them last week around the reefs at Akumal, and when we said we fancied a night dive and a wreck dive, they picked us from the hotel and chauffeured us to the C-56-gun boat wreck at Puerto Morelos. Eduardo and Sarah accommodated us with a smile and total professionalism. Put simply, if you are fancy recreational dives on your vacation or to take your first steps underwater with PADI courses in Mexico, we cannot recommend Blue Experience highly enough. Look no further.

It’s rare to find a company with 100% 5 star reviews, but this dive company absolutely deserves it! If you’re looking for a friendly, small group diving around Akumal Bay (The Turtle Place) look no further than Blue Experience Diving! I had 3 days of diving with Sarah and Eduardo, the owners. During the 4 open water dives in Akumal we saw 9 turtles, and a lot of beautiful coral, fish and very clear blue water. The third day was a 2 tank cenote cavern dive at Dos Ojos, the two eyes. The second of which surfaces in the bat cave! This was a particularly unique experience, and less scary than it sounds. I was stayed at the Grand Sirenis, and they gave me a lift to Akumal each day where they rent the boat and pilot to access the local reefs. They typically offer 2 dives per day, either 8:30 & 10:30 or 10:30 and 12:30. Full training is offered in multiple languages, between the instructors I believe they can cover Spanish, English, German and French. See my photos for some examples of the scenery. My husband and I have nothing but positive things to say about our experience diving with Sara and Eduardo. Blue Experience diving is the perfect place for someone looking to get certified or check out the amazing dive spots located near Cancun. Whether you need a skills refresher or just want a guide to help you explore the area, this team will help you out. Our guide made us feel safe/well equipped and we were lucky enough to see nurse sharks, sea turtles and a whole array of fish. The team was incredible with communication, recommendations for food/stays in the area and overall they were just good people. We will certainly be reaching out next time we visit!

Can't speak highly enough of Blue Experience Diving. Eduardo was fantastic with my partner on his refresher dive. The kit was excellent, clear briefings, just us two and Eduardo and no other divers on the site. I've done 150+ dives and very few dive centres match up to this one.

Phenomenal experience for my first ocean dives! Eduardo was thorough and safe while making the dives a breeze. He educated us along the way and was a clear expert on the dive sites. Will be diving with Blue Experience again any time I can.

I had a breathtaking dive through Dos Ojos cenote with Eduardo! He has the timing down so we were first in, on our surface interval when the next gaggle of divers went through, and had the line all to ourselves again for the second dive. The equipment I rented was in great shape and he did a thorough job with the dive brief. I felt comfortable and prepared. Sarah and Eduardo were professional and easy to communicate with. I’d absolutely dive with them again! Added bonus: they have a very fluffy friendly doggy I met in the dive shop ☺️
